Walk Tall
The main star of the pattern is self-striping yarn - it really makes the design shine! These toe-up socks begin with a French toe. To that we add a few, well-placed increases and decreases and voila! - softly undulating stripes in brilliant color.
The instep and leg are worked in the Stitch Pattern while the sole is worked in Stockinette stitch. The gusset increases are worked at the side of the sole. The heel is turned using a short row heel cap which means no picking up stitches. The heel flap is worked in a standard slipped stitch pattern.
Designer Note: Please consider this when choosing sizes - this stitch pattern does not have a great amount of stretch built in; therefore, even though the final foot circumference measurements are as stated, the finished sock only has 0.5 - 1" of negative ease overall.
